Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform non-surgical root canal treatments, endodontic surgery, and apicoectomies.
- Cook up reports and written documentation as required by the department, company, and State and Federal agencies.
- Maintain proper, detailed, and accurate dental records.
- Travel between clinics as needed.
- Be available for call, as scheduled, by the Dental Director/Administrative Director (AD).
- Assist the AD in supervising the dental staff and ensuring compliance with State and Federal guidelines.
- Achieve and exceed productivity goals set by the Arkansas Children's Hospital organization.
- Present a professional demeanor with patients, staff, and administration.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Dental Director/AD, as needed to meet clinic or organization goals.
- Supervise Dental Assistants with whom they work.
- Understand the organization's commitment to providing high-quality patient care and promote a patient-centered environment.
- Review patients' medical histories and discuss their symptoms and concerns.
- Utilize dental instruments and x-ray equipment to determine the cause of patients' oral pain and discomfort.
- Formulate suitable treatment plans based on diagnosed dental conditions.
- Complete comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and progress notes on each patient.
- Examine and treat dental conditions to provide optimal care to patients.
- Consult with patients/parents/guardians and advise them of their dental status and required treatment.
- Provide education on oral conditions, treatment options, and risks, benefits, and alternatives of each option.
- Treat dental conditions for patients of all ages, and provide appropriate specialty referrals when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) and successful completion of a residency training program in endodontics approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
