About the role
Elica Health Centers is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to underserved communities. We operate Community Health Clinics and a mobile medicine program called Health on Wheels, alongside a Resource Center that helps patients access vital resources.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive endodontic evaluations and develop treatment plans.
- Provide specialty endodontic services such as root canal therapy, endodontic retreatment, and dental trauma management.
- Collaborate with general dentists and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and procedures accurately in the EHR system.
- Communicate effectively with dentists, dental hygienists, and support staff about patient care plans and treatment recommendations.
- Support clinical oversight and guide dental assistants and other clinical support staff in specialty dental services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and compliance programs.
- Maintain regular communication with the Chief Dental Officer on endodontic service needs, patient access concerns, and clinical challenges.
- Report significant clinical concerns, patient safety events, and operational issues to the Chief Dental Officer promptly.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Endodontics residency program.
- Board Certification by the American Board of Endodontics (ABE).
- Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California.
- Current DEA registration and CURES registration.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least 2 years of experience working with underserved, low-income persons or homeless persons.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving medically underserved and culturally diverse populations.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
