About the role

Elica Health Centers is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to underserved communities. We operate Community Health Clinics and a mobile medicine program called Health on Wheels, alongside a Resource Center that helps patients access vital resources.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive endodontic evaluations and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide specialty endodontic services such as root canal therapy, endodontic retreatment, and dental trauma management.
  • Collaborate with general dentists and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and procedures accurately in the EHR system.
  • Communicate effectively with dentists, dental hygienists, and support staff about patient care plans and treatment recommendations.
  • Support clinical oversight and guide dental assistants and other clinical support staff in specialty dental services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and compliance programs.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Chief Dental Officer on endodontic service needs, patient access concerns, and clinical challenges.
  • Report significant clinical concerns, patient safety events, and operational issues to the Chief Dental Officer promptly.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
  • Completion of a CODA-accredited Endodontics residency program.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Endodontics (ABE).
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California.
  • Current DEA registration and CURES registration.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with underserved, low-income persons or homeless persons.
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving medically underserved and culturally diverse populations.
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
