About the role
Summary/Job Scope: End loader Operator. Purpose of Position: Responsible for safely operating a power‑driven machine equipped with a movable shovel to feed materials onto conveyors and into the concrete plant and trucks; maintaining the concrete plant and yard through proper housekeeping and preventive maintenance; ensuring a safe work environment.
Superior Materials, part of Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA), operates in the Canadian and U.S. Great Lakes region and Northeast United States, providing cement, ready‑mix concrete, and aggregates for infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate end loader: push levers and depress pedals to move machine, lower and push bucket into stockpiled material, lift, swing, and dump contents into concrete plant and trucks.
- Clean up yard.
- Order materials for the batch plant.
- Load material into bins.
- Load trucks with shipping waste, etc.
- Maintain lubrication of end loader.
- Perform housekeeping in the plant yard.
- Carry out plant maintenance.
- Perform burning and welding tasks.
- Handle and lift/load concrete additives into trucks.
- Tear down and reassemble steel boxes for concrete blocks.
- Shovel material.
- Clean conveyors, catwalks, and other plant areas to eliminate material build‑up.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems in the plant.
- Lubricate all plant equipment.
- Assist in emergency repair situations.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance.
- Handle mix fibers.
- Assemble and break down form boxes.
- Maintain and clean dust collector.
- Hold a CDL and be available to drive a mixer truck on an as‑needed basis.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of materials.
- Knowledge of equipment (conveyor lines, concrete plant, trucks).
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Ability to operate end loader.
- Burning and welding capability.
- Forklift certification (will help obtain).
- Ability to read and write.
- Commercial driver license with minimum “B” endorsement and air brakes.
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly.
- Willingness to work outside.
- Ability to climb up to 320 ft conveyor at a 45‑degree angle.
