About the role

The End User Services (EUS) department provides IT support and customer service to RCHSD staff, physicians, clinics, programs, and clinical staff across the RCHSD Enterprise. The EUS System Administrator manages various systems in the end-user environment and serves as a senior escalation point for the End User Support Specialist team. This role collaborates with peers and other departments on projects, software implementations, upgrades, and integrations, while coordinating system downtimes and reporting in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) forum.

This Tier 3 position requires diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, peripheral, audio-visual, and software application issues with limited supervision. Availability after hours is required to maintain uptime for key production systems. The role also provides guidance to Tier 2 EUS Desktop Support specialists on tickets, systems solutions, device support, and application access, while serving as a backup to peers to maintain system reliability and service-level standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot end-user devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, PCs, Thin Clients, wireless scanners, and printers), hardware, and software.
  • Support desktop operating systems such as Windows 10, 11, macOS, Linux, and Chrome OS.
  • Administer and troubleshoot virtual software deployment tools (e.g., VDI solutions, AWS, Nutanix, Azure) and manage Thin Clients via Dell Wyse console.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect networks from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and manage resolutions while coaching and training peers and staff on systems and best practices.
  • Oversee system access, security, data integrity, and information workflow for infrastructure such as printer servers, file shares, Intune, SCCM, WDM, Imprivata Cortex, and Lansweeper.
  • Manage print services, including driver updates, device modifications, printer protocols (e.g., SMP, IPP, Socket), and hardware installation.
  • Automate routine tasks through scripting and propose technical solutions to improve operations.
  • Administer systems such as Active Directory, file shares, print servers, O365, MIST, Intune, Cisco ISE, Company Portal, and network monitoring tools (e.g., Lansweeper, NexThink).
  • Coordinate system downtimes for maintenance and report in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) forum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification.
  • CA Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • 25% travel throughout San Diego and Riverside counties using company fleet vehicles or personal vehicle.
  • Experience with Windows 10, 11, macOS, Linux, and Chrome OS.
  • Experience managing virtual software deployment tools (e.g., VDI, AWS, Nutanix, Azure) and Thin Clients via Dell Wyse console (preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Ability to coach and train peers and staff on systems and best practices.
  • Experience administering systems such as Active Directory, file shares, print servers, O365, Intune, Cisco ISE, and network monitoring tools.
  • Solutions-oriented, customer-focused, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Administrator, or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate or Endpoint Administrator.
  • ITIL 4 Certification or Microsoft PowerShell scripting.
  • Healthcare experience, with an understanding of HIPAA compliance, Joint Commission standards, and patient safety best practices.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $41.49 to $57.05 per hour. Compensation decisions consider experience, education, licensure, unique skillsets, organizational need, and internal equity.
