Emulation Engineer

About the role

The role involves developing pioneering emulation environments and infrastructure for evaluating multi-terabit systems. It includes working with the design, DV, power, and post-silicon diagnostic teams, and assisting with test plan design, test implementation, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Developing emulation environments using C/C++ and TCL.
• Collaborating with the design, DV, power, and post-silicon diagnostic teams.
• Designing and implementing test plans, and debugging during the pre-silicon emulation process.
• Generating complex traffic and performance scenarios to catch potential post-silicon issues.
• Solving issues with leading emulation team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree + 5 years of related experience, or Master's degree + 3 years of related experience.
• Prior emulation experience on platforms such as Palladium, Veloce, or Zebu.
• Experience with compilation, debug, and performance testing.
• Experience with RTL development for Emulation prototypes.
• Experience with C/C++ and TCL infrastructure development.
• Experience with System debug tools like gdb, waveform debuggers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scripting programs (e.g., Python, Perl).
• Experience with UVM and System Verilog.
• Post-Silicon functional validation or debugging experience.
• Experience with protocols (e.g., PCIe, I2C, Ethernet packet headers, Ethernet protocol).

Cisco offers competitive compensation, including a starting salary range of $152,500.00 to $219,200.00, subject to location and individual performance. Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $152,500.00 to $219,200.00, reflecting the projected salary range for new hires in U.S. and/or Canadian locations. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.

Schedule

This is an onsite role requiring working out of the Milpitas/San Jose office location.
