EMT/Paramedic - Weekday evenings (Between 7pm-7am) and weekend shifts needed - PRN
About the Role
Alcanza is a growing multi-site, multi-phase clinical research company with a network of locations across multiple states and Puerto Rico. We specialize in Phase I-IV studies across therapeutic areas including vaccine, neurology, dermatology, psychiatry, and general medicine. This position supports Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), Site Managers, Principal and Sub Investigators, and other site staff in compliance with GCP, ICH, HIPAA, FDA Regulations, and SOPs. The role involves clinical, lab, and administrative tasks essential for the successful operation of Phase 1 studies.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the execution of assigned studies and support functions in collaboration with the clinical research site team.
- Provides patient overwatch for those enrolled in Phase 1 in-patient trials.
- Documents in source clinic charts and enters data in EDC (Electronic Data Capture).
- Obtains vital signs and may perform basic procedures per protocol.
- Assists with updating and maintaining logs and filing in charts.
- Maintains a positive, results-oriented work environment, builds partnerships within the team, and models teamwork.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of patients, employees, customers, and company information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Performs all other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
- EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant background AND 1+ years of clinical experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in performing basic clinical procedures such as blood pressure and vitals.
Skills
- Proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Office, email, electronic health records, web applications) and typing speed of 40+ WPM.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills; ability to work well independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, adapt to changing workloads, and prioritize effectively.
- Professional, respectful, self-motivated, and demonstrates a strong work ethic.
- High degree of integrity, dependability, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
