About the Role

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) functions as an integral part of a high-quality, efficiency-driven medical team. The PCC helps create a positive patient experience and supports patient complaints similar to those in an Emergency Room, including chest pain, abdominal pain, injuries, and fractured bones.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care to a variety of patients (fast track, med/surg, and critical care).
  • Perform quality splinting, dressing applications, and wound care.
  • Perform EKGs and cardiac monitoring with recognition of basic arrhythmias.
  • Assist in procedure set-up (e.g., incision and drainage, suturing, vaginal exams, lumbar punctures, chest tubes).
  • Perform accurate triages and discharges of patients of all ages.
  • Turn over rooms per protocol (based on patient diagnosis).
  • Communicate positively with all team members and patients.
  • Manage the patient tracking system.
  • Delegate tasks professionally and reasonably to team members (front staff and radiology).
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accurately input patient discharge instructions and prescriptions into computer software.
  • Successfully participate in Proficiency Testing as directed.
  • Complete drug screening collection class.
  • Complete routine checklists (daily, monthly, etc.) as assigned.
  • Utilize organizational software to reference patient records and protocols.
  • Follow information security policies and actively contribute to their effectiveness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • Ability to work weekdays from 9 AM–7 PM and weekends from 9 AM–4 PM.
  • Successfully pass a background and drug test.
  • Advanced English proficiency; Spanish and Creole are preferred.
  • Up to 30% travel to support clinic operations across the market (e.g., coverage at other clinic locations, trainings, meetings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of previous related experience (Paramedic, EMT, ER Technician).
  • Paramedic or EMT experience.
