About the role

Medcor is seeking a full-time EMT or Paramedic to serve as an Onsite Health Technician for their Mobile Unit clinic in La Porte, Indiana. The position involves variable hours (up to 8-12 hours per day) on weekdays, occasionally including Saturdays. The role will transition to an in-clinic based position in the fall.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medical and operational leadership, local medical providers, client staff, and corporate contacts
  • Provide patient care, manage workers compensation cases, facilitate RTW programs, monitor treatment plans, conduct drug screens, and perform fit testing
  • Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s mobile clinic
  • Offer superior customer service to Medcor’s clients and employees
  • Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses using Medcor’s Evidence-Based Medicine protocols (MCPs)
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships
  • Conduct pre-employment and post-offer drug screenings
  • Complete medical charting

Requirements

  • Love for the work and passion for providing exceptional care
  • A current EMT-B (or higher) license with no restrictions
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • The ability to lift a 50-pound emergency response bag
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive and outgoing personality
  • A willingness to go above and beyond for the benefit of others
  • An ability to enjoy the job and have fun

Plus If

  • Experience working in a construction environment
  • Familiarity with computer systems and EMR software
  • Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
