About the Role
Nemours is seeking an EMT for our Critical Care Transport Team. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients from referring hospitals to other facilities and destinations. Responsibilities include the safe operation of the vehicle and assisting the transport Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist teams. All direct care is provided under EMT certification, with additional skills performed under the direct supervision of the transport team RN/RT and Medical Command Officer direction.
The Critical Care Transport Team transports an average of 130-140 calls per month, with 90% of patients transported by ambulance and the remaining by flight. Patient placements include specialty care units such as pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, cardiac intensive care, emergency, and surgical units, as well as general pediatric floors. In addition to interfacility transports, the team assists with patient care and available resources in units throughout the hospital.
Schedule
Day and Night positions available, 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Must have and maintain a driving record acceptable to Nemours’ insurance carrier
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Florida EMT certification required
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or approved equivalent required
- Minimum two years of driving experience in an emergency medical services capacity
