Responsibilities

• Follows established policies, procedures, guidelines, medical protocols, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
• Completes patient care reports, billing reports, and other required documentation per established guidelines.
• Performs assessments based on training and medical protocols to determine and apply treatment and transport methods.
• Drives ambulance safely and defensively, obeying traffic rules and regulations.
• Affords assistance to higher-trained personnel in providing effective care.
• Provides exceptional customer service to patients, families, bystanders, and other response agency personnel.
• Supports community service and relationship functions as requested by leadership.
• Maintains ambulance and medical equipment in a state of readiness.
• Communicates effectively with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other emergency responders.
• Participates in ongoing training and professional development activities.
• Adheres to confidentiality and privacy regulations regarding patient information.
• Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to ill and injured patients.

Requirements

• Licensed in the state of practice [Required]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required] OR EMT-Advanced (EMT-A) [Required]
• Basic Life Support (BLS) [Required]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required]

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ year experience in the field [Preferred]
