Responsibilities
- Follows established policies, procedures, guidelines, medical protocols, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
- Completes patient care reports, billing reports, and other required documentation per established guidelines.
- Performs assessments based on training and medical protocols to determine and apply treatment and transport methods.
- Drives ambulance safely and defensively, obeying traffic rules and regulations.
- Affords assistance to higher-trained personnel in providing effective care.
- Provides exceptional customer service to patients, families, bystanders, and other response agency personnel.
- Supports community service and relationship functions as requested by leadership.
- Maintains ambulance and medical equipment in a state of readiness.
- Communicates effectively with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other emergency responders.
- Participates in ongoing training and professional development activities.
- Adheres to confidentiality and privacy regulations regarding patient information.
- Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care to ill and injured patients.
Requirements
- Licensed in the state of practice [Required]
- Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required] OR EMT-Advanced (EMT-A) [Required]
- Basic Life Support (BLS) [Required]
- Driver's License (DL) [Required]
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- 1+ year experience in the field [Preferred]
