About the role
American Medical Response (AMR) is a Teamsters Local 763 union-based company providing emergency medical services in Seattle/King County and surrounding areas since 1923. As a subsidiary of Global Medical Response, AMR combines local leadership with national resources to deliver comprehensive prehospital and inter-facility transport to patients across King, Snohomish, Pierce, and other counties. This full-time position offers opportunities for overtime, Wildland Fire EMS, Disaster Response Team participation, and multiple stand-by events. AMR also provides qualifying employees a paid scholarship for paramedic training with a flexible work schedule during schooling.
Schedule
Flexible shifts including 8, 10, 12, or 14-hour shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Maintains thorough familiarity with treatment protocols, response requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
- Stays aware of changes in system components and company policy.
- Maintains required certifications consistent with assigned tasks.
- Complies with state and company requirements for operating motor vehicles safely.
- Develops ability to quickly and safely locate addresses through knowledge of number systems and street layouts.
- Ensures unit readiness in terms of mechanical reliability, medical supply and equipment, cleanliness, and appearance standards.
- Completes all appropriate documentation as outlined in company policy.
- Reports problems and unusual occurrences immediately to Supervisor.
- Maintains professional appearance by adhering to hygiene and uniform standards.
- Attends all mandatory in-services.
- Performs other duties as defined in the job description.
Requirements
- Emergency Medical Technician training and certification as required by the county.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) certification for all EMT levels.
- Emergency vehicle operation knowledge.
- Radio communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of medical supplies and equipment contained in the vehicle.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently or as a team member.
- Discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Pay
Starting wage: $27.69 - $32.27 per hour, including weekend differential. Overtime opportunities available.
