EMT - LGH Ground Transport/Full-Time 8a-8p

Responsibilities

• Affords assessments of the nature and extent of illness/injury to establish and prioritize medical care.
• Provides appropriate patient care interventions, including basic life support needs.
• Provides emergent and routine care, and transports patients as needed by ambulance.
• Gathers and submits appropriate patient data for continued treatment.
• Prioritizes multiple tasks to complete work assignments promptly.
• Completes documentation and submits it in a timely manner.
• Communicates effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization.
• Recognizes and appropriately intervenes in conflicts with personnel, patients, and other customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Virginia EMT certification required.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR or recognized equivalent required for hire, AHA Healthcare Provider CPR required within 6 months of hire.
• VAVRS or VDFP EVOC required.
• Hazardous Materials Awareness required within the first year of employment.
• FEMA ICS 100, 200, and 700 preferred qualifications.
• National Registry EMT preferred.
• Associate degree or previous pre-hospital EMS or transport experience preferred.
• Travel is expected to be between 10% - 25% of the time.
