Gundersen Health System Ambulance (GHSA) is seeking a casual on-call EMT to join our highly committed and driven West Union, IA ambulance team.
Responsibilities
- Respond, treat, and transport patients in emergency and non-emergency settings.
- Function as a crew member of an ambulance in both Rural 911 and interfacility transfer environments, providing transfer services for Gundersen Critical Access hospitals and non-affiliated hospitals throughout the region.
- Provide EMT-level clinical care to patients of all ages in accordance with established policies, protocols, and standards under the guidelines of Gundersen Health System medical direction.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (NREMT) or Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) by time of start; with Iowa EMT license within 90 days of the hire date.
- Valid Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Iowa driver’s license.
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning).
- Certified Emergency Vehicle Operation (CEVO) or equivalent & ICS 100, 200 and 700 course certificates required within 60 days of hire.
- Prior work experience in an emergency or pre-hospital setting is strongly preferred.

Pay
Starting pay of $17.93 per hour and up, based on your years of experience.
Schedule
12 & 24 hour shifts, must work a minimum of 24 hours of open shifts per month. Will be located at the West Union, IA Ambulance Station during your scheduled shift(s).
