EMT - Emergency Medical Services - PRN

About the role

Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) patient care and ambulance transportation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients in emergency situations
• Exercise judgment, dexterity, and physical coordination
• Prepare clear and concise reports
• Drive emergency vehicles safely and responsively
• Work independently and as part of a team, including alongside emergency fire and police units
• Maintain a positive and cooperative working environment in stressful situations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience
• Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) and meeting insurability requirements
• Current Georgia EMT-B license
• Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification

Qualifications

Knowledge

• Emergency clinical practices, procedures, and protocol

Behavioral and Physical Skills

• Act calmly and quickly in emergencies
• Work during odd hours and for extended periods, sometimes outdoors and in adverse weather conditions
• Perform tasks involving standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
• Lift patients with a partner, occasionally exceeding 200 pounds
• Minimize health risks from exposure to ill patients
