EMT Basic

Responsibilities

• Provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws.
• Communicate effectively with patients, allied health professionals, and public safety personnel.
• Use appropriate EMT skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment and tools.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow EMTs.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State EMT License.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS certification.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification.
• Passing driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass physical agility test.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of related work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of emergency medical techniques and equipment.
• Proficiency in operating an ambulance.
