EMT Basic
Responsibilities
- Provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services.
- Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
- Use appropriate skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment, and tools.
- Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel, as well as fellow EMTs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- State Driver’s License.
- State EMT certification.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Driving record in compliance with company policy.
- Pass Physical Ability Test (PAT).
- Some work experience in healthcare is preferred.
Qualifications
EMTs must have a passion for emergency medical services and a commitment to providing high-quality care and customer service to patients. They should also possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to handle stressful situations, and proficiency in using medical equipment and ambulatory vehicles are essential.

Pay
Full-time hires start at $21.40 per hour and up, based on years of experience.
Schedule
Hours may vary depending on the needs of the department, but generally include shifts during daytime, evening, and night hours.
