About the role
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a critical role in Saint Clare's Health's mission to provide safe, high quality, compassionate care. They are responsible for rendering basic life support, providing transportation in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings, and working as part of a healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Render basic life support of the highest quality, compassion, and dignity
- Provide patients with transportation in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings
- Work as a member of the healthcare team in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures
- Provide care to patients ranging in age from neonatal through geriatric
Requirements
- Current and valid New Jersey Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician certification
- Pennsylvania or New York Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician certification or NREMT accepted but must obtain New Jersey Certification within 12 months of hire
- Current and valid Healthcare Provider - BLS CPR card
- Obtain PHTLS or ITLS or TCCC certification within 90 days of hire date
- Valid Driver’s License
- CEVO certification - must obtain within 3 months of hire and renew in 3 year period
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Previous experience as an EMT is preferred
- Must have a good driving record

- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong physical stamina and endurance
- Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols
