EMT

About the role

The Basic EMT is responsible for delivering quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and adhering to the standards of care set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality pre-hospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques.
• Adhere to the standards of care set by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security - EMS Division and the Parkview Health EMS Medical Director(s).
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during transport.
• Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare providers.
• Lift and assist with moving patients as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification: Meets Indiana State EMT-Basic guidelines and holds a valid state EMT-Basic certification.
• CPR required.
• Valid driver's license.
• One year experience preferred.
• Meets insurability requirements under Parkview Health vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "driver exclusion," and/or other insurance modifications and/or high risk classification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical requirements met.
• Able to lift 100 pounds and assist with 300 pounds.

Qualifications

• One year experience preferred.
• Meets insurability requirements under Parkview Health vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "driver exclusion," and/or other insurance modifications and/or high risk classification.
