About the role
The MaineHealth EMS Base in Norway covers 9 towns, averaging around 5,500 calls per year, with about 70% being 911 responses and 30% transport calls. The base operates 3 crews 24/7 and has an additional crew for winter transport needs. Shifts range from 12 to 24 hours, with options including 24-hour shifts from 8A - 8A, 16-hour shifts from 4P - 8A, and 12-hour shifts from 7P/A - 7A/P or 8A/P - 8P/A. Common space is available for shift downtimes, and there are 8 private bedrooms.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic life support during emergency pre-hospital and interfacility transfer care to patients when indicated by the patient’s injury or illness in accordance with state and local protocols.
Requirements
- Completion of EMT-basic course required.
- Current applicable state(s) EMT-Basic license required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Current BLS Certification required.
