EMT/AMBULANCE DRIVER
About the role
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a trained healthcare professional who specializes in providing immediate medical attention and care to patients in emergency situations. They play a crucial role in the pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transfers, following strict Orange City Area Health System Ambulance protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. With their extensive knowledge and skills, EMTs are capable of handling a wide range of emergency situations and delivering life-saving care to those in need.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate medical attention and care to patients in emergency situations.
- Follow strict Orange City Area Health System Ambulance protocols to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Handle a wide range of emergency situations and deliver life-saving care.
- Work in the pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transfers.
- Be available on-call 24/7.
- Work up to 12 hours per week with one weekend shift required every eight weeks.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license for Ambulance Drivers.
- Willingness to attend or have attended an EMT class approved by the State of Iowa.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for EMTs.
- EMTs must be willing to attend or have attended an EMT class approved by the State of Iowa.
- EMTs must be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
- Extensive knowledge and skills in emergency medical care.
- Ability to handle a wide range of emergency situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work variable schedules and be available on-call 24/7.
