Job Description
This position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
- Develop curriculum for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
- Deliver instruction for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
- Complete documentation including grades, etc., as required by the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Certifications Required
- Two years of experience as a Paramedic functioning on an emergency response ambulance required
- Paramedic certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services
- Knowledge of EMS practices
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices
- Knowledge of emergency procedures
- Knowledge of pre-hospital practices
- Knowledge of proper assessment techniques
- Skills to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment in a safe and correct manner
- Teaching and testing skills
- Ability to deliver instructional presentations
- Ability to prepare EMS lab
- Ability to train and direct students
- Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Certifications Recommended
- AAS Degree
- EMS Instructor Certification
- BLS Instructor
- ACLS Instructor
- PALS Instructor
- PHTLS Instructor
- NREMT Paramedic
- Clinical Coordinator experience
