EMS Driver/ Operator - MS Center for Emergency Services (MCES)

Responsibilities

• Transports passengers via stretcher, isolette and wheelchair;
• Transports items to various locations, ensuring proper care of items handled during transport.
• Auxiliary in unloading, moving, and/or setting up materials, equipment, stretcher, and/or isolette.
• Auxiliary in non-invasive medical tasks such as taking vitals signs and/or preparing medical equipment within the individuals scope of training.
• Maintain applicable records and documentation; prepare and maintain accurate transportation logs, vehicle consumption logs, and other relevant data as required.
• Ensure that vehicles, and all associated equipment are clean and ready for use.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and/or infection control practices.
• Operate communication devices needed to perform the missions of MCES.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED.
• Completion of a pre-employment drug screen required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• MS EMS drivers license within 2 weeks of hire.
• Emergency vehicles operations certifications within 2 weeks of hire.
• BLS healthcare provider within 6 months of hire.
