Emrgncy Medical Technician I - Galveston County Jail - Casual

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Captures information related to the level of care required during transfer based on patient’s medical condition.
• Operates computer terminal to input patient information, vehicle status, and crew assignments.
• Dispatches appropriate resources to complete patient transfers in the most cost-effective manner ensuring appropriate level of care enroute.
• Gathers and records information related to vehicle maintenance, repair costs, outside vendor utilization, and other operational statistical data as required.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school or GED equivalent.
• Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic by the Texas Department of Health.

SALARY

Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
