Employment Specialist
About the role
The Employment Specialist provides tailored support and guidance to job seekers, assisting them in developing essential skills, preparing for interviews, and navigating their career paths. This position also assists with obtaining and maintaining employment consistent with clients' vocational goals and skills. Responsibilities include comprehensive intake, assessment, coaching, case management, and maintaining detailed case files on participants, including required forms and evaluation of job retention and progress toward goals in individual success plans.
The Job Coach builds relationships with the business community and facilitates outreach activities to service providers and potential participants. This position supports the goals and objectives of ReHire Colorado (House Bill 13-1004), a Transitional Jobs program designed to stabilize individuals and families through earned income, strengthen local economies, support employer partners, and provide unemployed or underemployed adults with meaningful work experience. The program helps clients develop workplace skills and transition into unsubsidized stable employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support and guidance to job seekers, including skill development, interview preparation, and career navigation.
- Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining employment aligned with their vocational goals and skills.
- Conduct comprehensive intake, assessment, coaching, and case management for participants.
- Maintain detailed case files, including required forms and evaluations of job retention and progress toward goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with the business community to facilitate employment opportunities.
- Facilitate outreach activities to service providers and potential participants.
- Support the goals of ReHire Colorado, including helping clients transition into stable, unsubsidized employment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in business or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in job training or workforce development preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Use of a personal vehicle with an up-to-date driver’s license, insurance, and Colorado registration; must have a clean driving record.
