Employment Specialist

Full-time hourly position in Albany, NY for our Supported Employment Program (SEMP). This is a non-exempt role working 35 hours per week, with days and hours varying based on department needs.

About the role

Provide direct support to individuals seeking employment. Assist your caseload with resume development, job searches, interview preparation, and onsite job coaching to help maintain successful community employment.

Pay

$21.00 per hour plus a $0.50/hour longevity increase after one year of service.

Requirements

All candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Hold a valid driver’s license that meets WWAARC insurability standards
• Secure and maintain all required certifications and trainings (e.g., First Aid, CPR, Decision Driving)
• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Have a personal vehicle for providing services

Qualifications

For OPWDD track:

• Combination of education and experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)

For ACCES-VR track:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field and experience working with individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability in a vocational setting, or
• Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field and one year of experience working with individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability in a vocational setting
