Employment Specialist
About the role
Making Opportunity Count (MOC) is dedicated to empowering families to achieve economic security by removing barriers and fostering opportunities. We provide a range of services including childcare, education, workforce development, nutrition, health, and community and housing support to alleviate poverty.
Responsibilities
- Engage clients and build relationships to facilitate competitive employment in suitable job settings.
- Collaborate with community providers to establish referral streams and resources for employment programs.
- Present at community workforce events as needed.
- Assess clients' vocational functioning using background information and work experiences.
- Conduct job development and job search activities to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining employment.
- Provide individualized follow-up support to help clients sustain employment.
- Offer education and support to clients as needed.
- Conduct outreach services with clients who may be disengaging from services.
- Develop an individual employment/education plan for each active caseload.
- Afford clients with community-based support services as needed.
- Meet with individuals in the community as required.
Requirements
- Educational and experiential qualifications equivalent to a bachelor's degree in workforce training & development, social services, or business.
- Experience working with individuals facing employment barriers, providing employment services, and understanding the work environment are preferred.
- The ability to function effectively as part of a team is essential.
- Bilingual skills are advantageous.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Compensation
A salary ranging from $24.51 to $33.17 per hour will be offered to the successful candidate, contingent upon meeting the minimum requirements for the position in accordance with MOC's compensation philosophy. The exact placement of the candidate will be determined based on factors consistent with MOC's compensation framework.
