Employment Specialist (ACCESS-VR)

About the role

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are now hiring a Full-time Employment Specialist in Binghamton, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
• Coach the person with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with persons with disabilities at job sites.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Teach new skills such as developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Reinforce essential skills.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities.
• A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Qualifications

• Must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of employment law and regulations.

Pay

• $18.00 per hour.
