Position Summary
Our Miami office has an opportunity for an employment litigation associate to join the firm’s nationally recognized practice representing premier local and national employers. This is an excellent opportunity for associates with an ownership mentality to assume a leading role in providing superior legal services to sophisticated employers in all aspects of labor and employment law.
Duties
- Performing legal research
- Drafting of legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings
- Attending court conferences
- Handling discovery-related activities (including e-discovery and depositions)
- Investigating and drafting position statements and dispositive motions
- Drafting settlement agreements and other employment-related agreements (e.g., employment agreements, arbitration agreements, restrictive covenant agreements)
- Counseling clients on employment-law-related matters
Requirements
- Juris Doctor
- Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Florida
- Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice
- At least 4+ years of litigation experience
- Experience taking and defending depositions in employment cases, as well as handling hearings in employment cases is preferred
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills are required
