Position Summary

The Employee Relations Sr. Specialist at HSBMA LLC is responsible for promoting a positive workplace environment through employee communications and engagement. This role involves managing employee relations, conducting investigations into workplace issues, and working with management to promote employee engagement and retention. The ER specialist will assist with employee training and support the implementation of company initiatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Developing ER Strategy
    Research labor circumstances, etc., and advise on a range of employee relations matters.

  • Employee Morale, Motivation and Satisfaction Management
    Implement measures to increase employee morale, motivation and satisfaction while reducing turnover.

  • Conducting employee engagement surveys, work lifestyle programs, on-boarding programs, diversity and inclusion programs, and training.

  • Creating performance management plans based on production needs.

  • Training and coaching managers and employees through the performance management process.

  • Conducting training sessions for managers to improve employee relations and people skills.

  • Investigating employee and supervisor complaints regarding conduct, performance and attendance.

  • Mediating between employees.

  • Monitoring diversity/equal employment opportunity program compliance.

  • Monitoring internal complaints/disputes that may lead to labor unionization.

  • Monitoring external labor union trends and movements.

  • Promoting and addressing workplace safety issues.

  • Overseeing all disciplinary actions, up to terminations for all salary and hourly personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in high volume manufacturing
  • 1-4 years leading a team or managing processes
  • Working level English proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to include stoop, kneel, bend or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, and portable gas measuring device.
  • Work environment includes usual office environment, production, and construction sites.
