About the role

This position advises and counsels management and employees on diverse and complex issues related to employee relations, using extensive knowledge of TMCH policies and federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and expert guidance to management staff on complex issues.
  • Participates in creating and implementing new and revised HR programs.
  • Supports reductions in force and trains managers on relevant topics.
  • Trains managers on methods to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Works with internal partners to conduct internal investigations and make recommendations.
  • Supports the Employee Survey Process, including preparation, analysis, and distribution of information.
  • Conducts periodic climate assessments and recommends strategies for improvement.
  • Provides HR On-Boarding for new people leaders.
  • Works with third party unemployment vendors to effectively utilize their services.
  • Prepares for and participates in unemployment hearings.
  • Researches and participates in the organization's response to lawsuits and charges of discrimination.
  • Administers ADA process and investigates employee grievances.
  • Ensures integrity and security of confidential employee data.
  • Adheres to and supports TMCH values and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of professional human resource experience in Employee Relations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of investigative and analytical techniques, procedures, and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports, research a variety of topics, and present information to management.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to new ideas and change.
  • Ability to analyze needs of management and prepare recommendations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, management, representatives of other healthcare organizations, and the general public.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
