Employee Relations Partner
About the role
The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to join their Human Resources team. This position works full-time in Ames, IA.
Responsibilities
- Champion customer service by providing timely, empathetic, and effective support to employees and leaders.
- Solve problems by analyzing workplace concerns, recommending fair and practical resolutions, and conducting thorough investigations.
- Model integrity by interpreting policies, codes, and laws with transparency and advising others on ethical application.
- Coach leaders through both small and large employee issues, offering consultation and resolution guidance.
- Support policy development and deliver engaging training sessions to promote understanding and compliance.
- Teach leaders in one-on-one and classroom settings on topics related to employee relations.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
- A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.
- Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.
