This position supports the North American Employee Relations (ER) team, focusing on Field Operations across fulfillment and logistics. The role aims to ensure fair, respectful, and consistent employee treatment aligned with Amazon’s core values. Responsibilities are divided into proactive and reactive categories, requiring collaboration with field operations managers, HR, and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Detect and Mitigate Risks: Identify trends, gaps, and challenges; execute solution-focused strategies and programs to mitigate risks.
- Crisis Management: Address time-sensitive, crisis-oriented employee issues with excellent judgment.
- Project Management: Independently own large-scale, network-wide projects to improve frontline employee experience.
- Analyze and Interpret Data: Use data and anecdotes to develop persuasive narratives and recommendations; define and measure program success.
- Communicate Effectively: Produce high-quality written communications and deliver engaging training sessions.
- Collaborate: Build relationships with stakeholders to share information and influence change.
- Problem Solve: Work independently in ambiguous situations and drive resolutions despite barriers.
- Work at Scale: Launch and manage sustainable mechanisms for entire networks.
Requirements
- 7+ years of employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
- Experience supporting large hourly workforces.
- Ability to analyze metrics to identify improvements in employee engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Comfort with significant domestic travel (up to 50% of the time), sometimes with short notice.
- Required return-to-office (RTO) but open to location throughout the U.S.
- Support for sites across Southern California’s last-mile delivery services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree, JD, or specialized training in labor/employee relations.
- Experience building and launching programs with measurable impact on engagement.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, adapt quickly, and manage ambiguity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; extensive public speaking or leadership experience.
- High accountability, sound judgment, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information and escalate issues appropriately.
- Experience connecting with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
- Previous experience managing operations.
Pay
Base salary range: $127,400 – $172,300 USD annually. Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
