About the role
The Employee Health Resource Nurse supports the health and well-being of Empath Health colleagues by serving as a clinical and occupational health resource while promoting a safe workplace.
Responsibilities
- Implements Empath Health policy/practices to meet all employee health related regulatory standards from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Department of Health (DOH), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA), and the State of Florida (AHCA).
- Implements Empath Health policy/practices that meet all employee health related accreditation standards from The Joint Commission (TJC), Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP), and Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).
- In collaboration with Human Resources and supervisor, oversees the Employee Health Program including oversight of the maintenance of employee health files that meet policy and regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure completion of all pre-employment and annual health screenings for employees.
- Collaborates with the Volunteer Program to facilitate completion of onboarding and annual screenings for volunteers.
- Trends employee illnesses and analyzes for patient/employee or other transmission patterns in collaboration with supervisor. Includes volunteers in any transmission analysis.
- Collaborates with Human Resources and supervisor, trends employee illness and injuries for enhanced safety and process improvement.
Requirements
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred; previous experience in Employee/Occupational Health in a healthcare setting; 2+ years preferred.
- Licensure: RN licensure, licensed in State of Florida.
- Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association; Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and spreadsheet/data management.
Skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in data analysis and trend identification.

Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday-Friday schedule supporting Pinellas, Hillsborough and Polk counties.
