Position Summary

RSI is recruiting for an Employee Communications Specialist who will be responsible for providing communication expertise and support to translate health and safety, environmental compliance, and quality assurance concepts into clear, engaging message-driven content that informs and aligns the workforce.

Location: Grand Junction, CO
Status: Full-Time
Travel: 5-10%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop health and safety, environmental compliance, quality assurance communications materials, and campaigns in collaboration with content and technical subject matter experts, editors, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and other communications specialists. This includes internal news articles, PowerPoint presentations, videos, graphics, newsletters, and other digital and print products.
  • Coordinate reviews, revise based on various subject matter experts' feedback, and distribute approved content that aligns with style and identity guidelines and quality standards.
  • Serve as LMS ECHO point of contact for LMS Environmental Compliance, Safety and Health, and Quality Assurance (ESHQA) directorate.
  • Lead planning, development, review, and distribution of E2SH&Q Outlook Newsletter.
  • Provide other employee communications support, including drafting messages, overseeing email platforms, developing communications plans and campaigns.
  • Compile data from available communication platforms on a consistent basis or as required by supervisors, managers, and cross-functional team members.
  • Use data to develop proactive plans and/or forecast communication plan results, and as appropriate or possible, offer recommendations for improvement.
  • Review and analyze communications data to inform strategy while developing and reviewing communication plans.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Communications team to ensure a cohesive strategy and process when supporting LMSP communications needs.
  • Follow Employee Communications best practices to ensure communications are properly identified as records and directs the communications to be archived as appropriate.
  • Monitor and manage email boxes (e.g., Employee Communications, LMS-VPP) as directed, ensuring timely response and execution of requested messages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Journalism, Public Affairs, or related field, and 5 years of relevant experience.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver's License. No professional certification required.

Physical Requirements

Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
