As an Employee Communications Representative – Level 2, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. The preferred location for this role is McLean, VA, but we may consider Linthicum, MD, or Roy, UT.

Responsibilities

• Support efforts to inform and inspire employees, as well as drive business priorities within the Space Systems sector.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to execute strategic campaigns that engage demographically and geographically diverse audiences.
• Write, draft, edit, and help facilitate the design and distribution of internal materials, newsletters, employee feature stories, and other engaging content.
• Conceptualize, procure, and produce inspirational content about our people, technologies, successes, and business capabilities, including articles, videos, interviews, Q&As, infographics, and photo/caption features.
• Represent employee communications on the Space Systems Connected Storytelling team, maintaining the editorial calendar and content tracker.
• Draft talking points, speeches, slides, video scripts, employee announcements, and executive summaries for senior leaders.
• Proactively identify and track upcoming wins and milestones across the sector, supporting the development and distribution of sector success stories.
• Develop, implement, and measure internal communications plans that inform and inspire employees, drive business goals, and support sector and enterprise communications goals.
• Lead the piloting and implementation of employee communications measurement tools.
• Assist in planning and executing internal events, including webcasts, site visits, conferences, leadership calls, all-hands meetings, and leadership engagements.
• Manage the anniversary recognition program for Space Systems, including distributing anniversary cards and executing the 50-year anniversary recognition process.
• Support change management communications activities and maintain internal communications tools, including websites and digital signage monitors.
• Ensure all communications plans and tactics are consistent with the company’s strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing with 0 years of professional experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Associated Press Style and Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in employee, strategic, or digital communications, journalism, marketing, or public relations.
• Experience with social media channels, audiences, and practices.
• Experience establishing and advancing an organization’s brand.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $113,800.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Schedule

Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.
