Employee Benefits Account Manager
Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Employee Benefits Account Manager to their team in Timonium, MD.
About the role
The Account Manager is a qualified, skilled, client-facing position primarily responsible for the successful delivery of day-to-day service-related activities that support Sales, Account Management, and Underwriting with the retention and growth of multiple assigned client accounts (Book of Business).
Responsibilities
- Manage the client life-cycle deliverables with oversight from the Benefit Consultant and Team Lead to ensure the successful retention of a Book of Business (94% Renewal Rate).
- Work on client-related deliverables of increasing complexity with guidance and supervision.
- Complete necessary training and professional development to gain exposure to principles such as strategic account planning, effective communication, and project management.
- Identify and declare an area of focus/subject matter expertise.
- Maintain up-to-date client files and internal systems in accordance with CSG’s standard protocols.
- Comply with CSG’s processes and operating standards.
- As part of the client life cycle (on-boarding, ongoing support, and renewal), execute day-to-day service deliverables for all lines of coverage and products by:
- Supporting the Team Lead to understand a client’s goals/objectives and develop a multi-year strategic plan (roadmap).
- Defining an annual service delivery calendar (life cycle) in support of the multi-year strategic plan.
- Preparing deliverables by leveraging team member expertise, available tools, and established standards to manage client expectations and ensure timely delivery.
- Effectively communicating and presenting findings, analysis, and recommendations in meetings, calls, and emails.
- Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports and other client-related projects as needed.
- Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong client/vendor relationships.
- Review employee education and communication materials (e.g., Benefit Guides) during key periods such as Open Enrollment.
- Research, respond to, and resolve client inquiries or service-related issues independently, involving more experienced team members when necessary.
- Maintain internal systems (e.g., BenefitPoint and Oracle) and client files according to CSG’s data standards and filing requirements.
- Ensure contact information for all client stakeholders is appropriately managed for Client Satisfaction (NPS) and Thought Leadership.
- Work with the Team Lead and Producer to create, review, update, and manage an Internal Account Plan to identify and overcome gaps.
- Interact with carriers and vendors on behalf of the client and the team.
- Identify and leverage resources appropriate for upsell opportunities.
- Reconcile client revenue monthly (BenefitPoint vs. Finance Accrued Revenue).
- Develop new and creative benefit solutions with guidance.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and responsive.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience working with a health and welfare carrier, broker, employee benefits administrator, or in an HR/benefits role.
- State-Specific Resident Life & Health License is required.
Pay
This range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to performance, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of FRP's total compensation package for employees.
Pay Transparency Range: $70,000 USD - $90,000 USD
