About the role

Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Employee Benefits Account Manager to their Acentria team in Cary, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client policy renewals and add new policies to meet client needs.
  • Implement additional resources specific to clients' needs and maintain overall business retention.
  • Independently inform, educate, answer questions, resolve issues, and make decisions regarding coverage implementation and modifications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service for assigned accounts, including correspondence and communication with customers, producers, and insurance carriers.
  • Partner with producer on new/renewal business strategy, including coordination of roles and obtaining necessary information.
  • Verify new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, coverages, and other relevant details.
  • Ensure timely delivery or mailing of policies to clients.
  • Develop strong positive client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact, maintaining open communication, and conducting face-to-face meetings as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology.
  • Provide guidance and direction to account associates and less experienced account managers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies & Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with numbers, including basic calculations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Projects a professional appearance and manner.
  • Self-starter with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of the insurance brokerage industry, including products, rating, underwriting, coverage, and operations.

Education & Experience

  • Life & Health License required.
  • College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Up to 3+ years of account management experience, including group benefits experience.
