About the Role

The Account Manager is a qualified, client-facing position responsible for the successful delivery of day-to-day service-related activities supporting Sales, Account Management, and Underwriting (the Team) with retention and growth efforts for multiple assigned client accounts (Book of Business).

Responsibilities

  • Manage client life-cycle deliverables with oversight from the Benefit Consultant and Team Lead to ensure successful retention of a Book of Business (94% Renewal Rate).
  • Work on client-related deliverables of increasing complexity with guidance and supervision.
  • Complete training and professional development to gain exposure to strategic account planning, effective communication, and project management.
  • Identify and declare an area of focus or subject matter expertise.
  • Execute day-to-day service deliverables for all lines of coverage and products as part of the client life cycle (on-boarding, ongoing support, and renewal), including:
    • Supporting the Team Lead to understand client goals/objectives and develop a multi-year strategic plan (roadmap).
    • Defining an annual service delivery calendar in support of the multi-year strategic plan.
    • Preparing deliverables using team expertise, tools, and established standards to manage client expectations and ensure timely delivery.
    • Effectively communicating and presenting findings, analysis, and recommendations in meetings, calls, and emails.
    • Preparing standard and ad-hoc reports and other client-related projects as needed.
    • Developing, cultivating, and maintaining strong client and vendor relationships.
  • Review employee education and communication materials (e.g., Benefit Guides) during key periods such as Open Enrollment.
  • Research, respond to, and resolve client inquiries or service-related issues independently, escalating to experienced team members when necessary.
  • Ensure contact information for all client stakeholders is managed for Client Satisfaction (NPS) and Thought Leadership.
  • Work with the Team Lead and Producer to create, review, update, and manage an Internal Account Plan to identify and address gaps.
  • Interact with carriers and vendors on behalf of the client and the team.
  • Identify and leverage resources for upsell opportunities.
  • Develop new and creative benefit solutions with guidance.
  • Drive to client locations and deliver Open Enrollment and education presentations as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of prior practical account management experience with a health and welfare carrier or broker required.
  • Current and active California Life & Health License required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of health and welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, STD, and LTD insurance.
  • Ability to interpret a client’s current coverage plan, identify gaps, and recommend opportunities to expand lines of coverage.
  • Ability to prepare RFPs and knowledge of the insurance marketplace.
  • Experience marketing new and existing clients.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience navigating and quoting in quoting systems.
  • Experience working in AMS360 (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Ease/Employee Navigator (preferred).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 USD. Actual salaries may vary based on factors including performance, location, and experience. This range is one component of FRP's total compensation package.
