Emory Healthcare Clinical Nutrition Dietetic 2027 -2028 Internship

Description

Works under the supervision of a registered dietitian to gain practical experience in various areas of nutrition and dietetics.

• Assist Registered Dietitians in the assessment, planning, and implementation of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for patients across diverse populations and conditions.
• Conduct nutrition screenings, collect patient data, and document findings in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) following hospital policies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
• Observe and contribute to outpatient nutrition counseling and education sessions.
• Support food service operations by assisting with menu planning, special diets, sanitation audits, and production oversight.
• Engage in community outreach and education programs as assigned.
• Complete assigned projects, case studies, and presentations as part of academic and site requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education: A bachelors degree in food and nutrition or dietetics.
• Masters degree conferred either prior to start or within 57 weeks of starting the internship program.
• Experience: Accepted into the Emory University Hospital Dietetic Internship Program. Completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics prior to start.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required): Competent in basic computer skills.
