EMLT Adjunct Pool
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
About the Role
The Department of Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Learning Technologies invites applicants for a temporary adjunct pool in teacher education for the following areas:
- PreK-4 methods courses in science, math, social studies, and literacy
- Middle level (grades 4-8) methods courses in literacy
- Student teaching field supervision in both areas
Undergraduate or graduate course offerings could be day or evening. We are seeking colleagues who have a passion for preparing the next generation of teachers.
Requirements
- A master's degree in the field of education, with at least 5 years' experience teaching in K-8
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be certified to be placed in the part-time adjunct faculty pool and will remain in the pool while active. As need arises, applicants will be considered and contacted for an on-campus interview. A successful interview and demonstration of abilities are required for selection.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate and at least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent
- Experience working with diverse learners
- ESL Endorsement, Special Education Certification, Instructional Coaching Endorsement, and/or interests in teacher inquiry or action research
