About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Year 6 Teacher who will also serve as an Assistant SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). In this role, you will inspire, support, and guide the next generation of students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

This position offers the opportunity to create a supportive and encouraging environment for students, much like the impactful relationships Emily Powell experienced with her own teachers. Your work will play a crucial role in the development of young people, particularly those with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach Year 6 students, fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Support students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and other special educational needs.
• Assist the SENCo in coordinating and implementing strategies to support students with additional needs.
• Help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive academic and personal outcomes.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage their development and well-being.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with young people, particularly in primary or secondary education settings.
• Experience or interest in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
• A passion for creating an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
