EMI/EMC Senior Principal Engineer

Responsibilities
- Apply and develop highly advanced EMI/EMC concepts, techniques, and standards, serving as an expert in the field.
- Define and implement EMI/EMC requirements to ensure Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance, including EMI, EMC, EME, ESD, EMP, and Lightning.
- Review, prepare, and modify EMI control plans, procedures, and reports; seek opportunities for improved efficiencies.
- Participate in design reviews and trade-off analysis; provide EMI/EMC design control for major programs.
- Direct major test programs at BAE Systems and external vendor sites; utilize test equipment automation software such as TILE and EMC32.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level EMI/EMC engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field).
- Thorough working knowledge of MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464.
- Experience in EMI/EMC analysis and modeling, product qualification tests, and compliance.
- Proficiency with virtual meeting tools (Webex, Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams).
- Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience presenting technical information to program teams and customers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a STEM field (Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field).
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, EMI receivers, low noise amplifiers, signal generators).
- Working knowledge of RTCA DO-160, Section 22 (Indirect Effects of Lightning).
- Experience with software tools such as Matlab, MathCAD, PSPICE, LTSPICE, Feko, ANSYS HFSS, and other simulation tools.
- Experience interpreting circuit schematics, PCB layouts, engineering drawings, BOMs, cable harnesses, wiring schematics, interface diagrams, and CAD software.
- Prior experience with lightning mitigation in systems or subsystems.
- iNarte EMC Engineer Certification.
- Active Secret or Top Secret DoD security clearance.

Pay
Full-time salary range: $130,355 – $221,603. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
Schedule
This role is full-time onsite at a BAE Systems facility in Nashua, NH, due to the need for consistent, in-person collaboration.
