About the role

Set the trajectory of your career. The economic infrastructure for AI is being built here. You can help engineer it. Explore what Stripe offers for early career opportunities.

What you’ll get

  • Good ideas don’t wait for seniority. Regardless of tenure, you’ll have the agency to pursue work you believe in and opportunities to influence decisions across Stripe.

The experience

  • You’ll be mentored by some of the most creative and technically rigorous people in the industry, working on teams reshaping how money moves and how businesses grow.
  • Your work will span large portions of Stripe’s stack and address urgent business needs. You’ll learn to produce at Stripe standards and contribute to projects that are genuinely interesting.
  • What you build will likely ship to businesses.

The community

  • Excellence is contagious here. The people around you are curious, rigorous, and genuinely good at what they do—and that raises everyone’s bar.
  • One of the things I learned early was to stop looking at myself as just a new grad, but as an expert engineer whose perspectives are meaningful to my team and company. — Natalee Chu, Former new grad

Responsibilities

Work on the biggest challenges in the global economy. Our program is competitive and the expectations are high. You’ll gain a clear sense of how the global economy works, how Stripe is changing it, and what you’re capable of.

Program details

The emerging talent program encompasses internship, apprenticeship, and early career roles. We host both undergraduate and graduate interns.

Application timeline

  • For internships, our global interview scheduling typically aligns with local academic calendars.
  • For full-time and apprenticeship roles, we hire on a rolling basis. We recommend applying to all Stripe roles as early as possible.

Internship opportunities

While the large majority of our internships are available on the engineering team, we’ve also hosted interns in machine learning, data science, and other teams across the business.

Frequently asked questions

What early career roles does Stripe hire for?

We hire new grads, interns, and apprentices across engineering, product, data science, design, finance, operations, and go-to-market teams. Programs span every education level, from bachelor’s to PhD. We’re also building a path for people who just graduated high school and are ready to get started.

Do Stripe internships lead to full-time offers?

Internships can be a path to a full-time role at Stripe, but there’s no guarantee. We evaluate interns against the same bar we hold all Stripes to, and full-time offers follow when performance is strong and business needs align. Conversion is selective.

Does Stripe care about GPA or where I went to school?

GPA matters to us, and we factor it into our review. We also recruit from schools where we’ve consistently seen strong performance. That said, exceptional people come from everywhere, and our strongest hires don’t all share the same background. Education is one way to demonstrate the kind of hard work and genuine ability we’re looking for, but it’s not the only one.

How does Stripe support early career employees once they join?

  • Onboarding gives you context on how Stripe works and where your role fits in.
  • You’ll have a manager accountable for your development and a mentor to help you find your footing.
  • We also offer an annual education stipend for courses, conferences, and other learning resources.
