Emerging Store Manager
About the role
Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations. Supports the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Engages customers and resolves complaints to ensure a positive experience.
- Monitors and coaches customer service, develops plans for improvement, and empowers team members to find impactful resolutions.
- Safeguards store assets, improves sales and profitability, and leads merchandising efforts.
- Operates the store, assigns tasks, manages schedules, and collaborates with external partners.
- Controls cash management, inventory, and implements corrective action plans based on trends.
- Maintains store cleanliness and responds to emergencies; ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Trains and supports team members in using technology systems and software.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of team members and complies with security protocols.
- Manages operations, analyzes financial data, and collaborates with the Store Manager to drive store improvement.
- Supports the Pharmacy during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician.
- Manages team member performance, discipline, and career development.
- Communicates regularly with team members and actively responds to their questions or concerns.
- Plans and communicates the company and store strategy.
Requirements
Full-time position. Must be fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico), willing to work flexible hours, and able to relocate if needed. Must have a Bachelor's degree, or a combination of a high school diploma/GED and two years of supervisory experience, or a satisfactory completion of the Walgreens Community Internship Program. Must have a valid pharmacy technician license (if required by state).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or a satisfactory completion of the Walgreens Community Internship Program.
- High School Diploma/GED and two years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including professional ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
- Completion of the Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training.
- Ability to communicate regularly with team members and actively respond to their questions or concerns.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area.

Pay
$45,000 - $71,550 annually.
Schedule
Flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
