About the role
Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations. Supports the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Engages customers and resolves complaints to ensure a positive experience.
- Monitors and coaches customer service, develops plans for improvement, and empowers team members to find the most impactful resolutions.
- Safeguards store assets, improves sales and profitability, and leads in-store operations.
- Collaborates with external partners, supports Pharmacy Operations Manager, and leverages data and team member input for decision-making.
- Safeguards cash management, inventory, and technology systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintains store cleanliness and responds to emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of team members.
- Communicates with team members, actively responds to concerns, and assists in planning and communicating the company's strategy.
- Manages team member performance, develops talent plans, and ensures a diverse pipeline of future leaders.
- Trains and mentors team members, obtains and maintains a pharmacy technician license, and completes required learning and development courses.
- Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
Full-time position. Must be fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico), willing to work flexible schedules including extended days, evenings, and weekends, and willing to relocate if necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or Walgreens Community Internship Program completion.
- Two years of experience in a supervisory position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
- Completion of the Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training.
- Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Prior retail or food industry experience.
