About the role
Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations. Supports the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline.
- Engages customers and resolves complaints, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Monitors customer service, provides coaching, and develops plans for improvements.
- Safeguards store assets, improves sales and profitability, and leads team members.
- Operates the store, assigns daily activities, and manages team member schedules.
- Supports external partnerships, analyzes data, and makes fact-based decisions.
- Ensures store cleanliness, responds to emergencies, and manages repairs.
- Trains/coaches team members on computer and technology systems.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and laws, including alcohol and tobacco sales.
- Completes special assignments and supports pharmacy during busy periods.
- Analyzes financial and performance data, creates action plans, and engages the team.
- Manages people and performance, provides training, and makes performance management recommendations.
- Communicates regularly with team members and assists in planning and communicating the company strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a supervisory position.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including professional ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
- Completion of Store Manager training program or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including extended days, evenings, and weekends.
- Fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail locations, if needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and two years of supervisory experience (for those without a bachelor’s degree).
- Valid pharmacy technician license (if required by state).
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
- Proficiency in computer and technology systems.
- Knowledge of store operations and compliance with laws and regulations.
