Emerging Markets Corporate Debt - MSIM - Research Associate
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and intellectually curious Research Associate to join our growing Emerging Markets Corporate Debt team. The primary role will be to support senior corporate analysts in investment idea generation and position monitoring processes within the $2 trillion emerging markets corporate credit universe. The role covers all EM regions, including Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Responsibilities
- Partner with and support senior analysts throughout their investment process.
- Perform in-depth fundamental due diligence of corporates located in emerging markets.
- Build, maintain, and enhance robust financial and valuation models.
- Distill complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for the investment team.
- Produce concise, high-quality research notes and synthesize data to highlight key investment themes, events, and market developments.
- Proactively source potential new investment opportunities through internal screening tools, industry research, conferences, and other relevant channels.
- Present analysis in team meetings, incorporate feedback, and continuously enhance presentation effectiveness.
- Willingness to travel for work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a high GPA.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in investment banking and/or asset management.
- A genuine interest in building a career in emerging markets finance.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Spoken Spanish and/or Portuguese.

Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is part of a total compensation package that may include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short- and long-term incentive packages.
