Emergency Veterinarian New Grad Mentorship Program - Highland, IN
About the Role
Our Highland location is seeking skilled, friendly, and energetic newly graduated Emergency Veterinarians who strive for and achieve excellence in emergency veterinary medicine. The mentorship experience is personalized to your learning style, pace, and professional goals, with a flexible timeline determined collaboratively between you and your mentor.
Mentorship Program Timeline
- Months 1–4: Scheduled exclusively with a core member of the DVM mentorship team, focusing on hands-on guidance, case discussions, foundational ER skills, and consistent support.
- Months 4–7: Schedule transitions into overlapping shifts with other associate DVMs to build relationships within the medical team and expose you to a variety of clinical cases.
- Months 7–12: Includes a mix of solo and overlapping shifts to develop independence, with real-time support available from veterinarians at other EVCC locations during solo shifts.
All schedules and timelines remain flexible and are continually adjusted based on individual needs, with progression decisions made collaboratively between you and your mentor.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an AVMA accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program
- Possesses state veterinary license in good standing or eligible to obtain one
- Excellent problem-solving and ability to think quickly on your feet
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and compassionate bedside manner, building trust and strong relationships with clients—both human and furry alike
