Responsibilities

  • Answer medical questions over the phone
  • See patients right away as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes, a unique, customer-centered approach
  • Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and perform physical exams
  • Conduct physical examinations and other required investigative measures such as ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
  • Create and review medical records to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate diagnosis and treatment options directly with customers
  • Create estimates and present them to customers
  • Perform minor and major emergency surgeries
  • Perform endoscopic procedures
  • Provide education on aftercare and preventative measures

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
  • Passion for emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy
  • Experience working in team-oriented environments
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor as well as lift up to 25 kg on own and support up to 40 kg with assistance
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis

Pay

Compensation details are competitive and will vary based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Vacancies require availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis.
