Emergency Veterinarian Opportunity Carolina Veterinary Specialists (CVS) – Charlotte, NC Carolina Veterinary Specialists is looking to add an Emergency Veterinarian to our team in Charlotte. We offer a highly collaborative environment where you’ll work closely with experienced specialists, skilled technicians, and seasoned emergency clinicians who are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. Our ER Doctors work a mix of day and overnight shifts to create a fair, and balanced schedule.

Qualifications (Required)

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
• Current State Veterinary License
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care
• Excellent Communication Skills and the ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with all members of the Medical and Hospital staff
• Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals. Perform cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological and other necessary examinations. Diagnosis and prescribe appropriate treatment
• Ability to develop solutions to challenges relating to the management of a high-quality veterinary hospital
• Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients. Display effective communication with internal medical and hospital staff
• Work as part of a high-quality, professional veterinary team with the ability to provide and receive appropriate constructive criticism, suggestions, and feedback
• Ability to understand the management and finances of the veterinary hospital practice
• Knowledge and understanding of ethical principles that guide decisions affecting patients
• Commitment to utilizing available resources of continuing education and to facilitating learning of others

Pay

We offer a guaranteed base salary of $175,000 for experienced emergency clinicians, along with a sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. This includes a generous continuing education allowance with dedicated time off, full medical, dental, and vision coverage with FSA/HSA options, a 401(k) with employer contribution, productivity bonuses, paid time off, reimbursement for membership dues, relocation assistance (if applicable), a uniform program, and pet care discounts.

Schedule

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and may include some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Position does require the ability to work a mix of day and overnight shifts.
